| 4/28/05 | Financial Literacy Month Dinner |
| The Texas Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy celebrated Financial Literacy Month with a dinner on Thursday, April 28, 2005 in Dallas, TX. We were honored to have Rebecca Lopez, Reporter for WFAA-TV, emcee the event.
Attendees of the dinner received reports on the National and Texas Jump$tart's missions and visions for the future and an update on financial education legislative issues in Texas. Attendees also had the opportunity to network with commercial, governmental and academic providers and leaders that all have the same mission of improving the financial literacy of young Texans. The evening featured Sammy the Saver, a larger-than-life rabbit who uses songs, books and hands-on activities to teach children the value of managing their money. "Sammy the Saver" shared the short version of his regular classroom presentation with dinner attendees. He then conducted his full classroom presentation to three dozen first graders at James W. Fannin Elementary School in Dallas on Friday, April 29. For more information on It's A Habit Co., Inc. or "Sammy the Saver", please visit www.itsahabit.com.
